Main purpose of the role:

1. To lead, and to independently handle, conceptual development work

2. To provide a broad range of copywriting services

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Copywriting: To write clearly, accurately and compellingly on a wide range of projects, including websites, DM, ads, blogs, small-space banner ads, brochures, etc.
  • Conceptual idea generation: To provide a stream of innovative and original - but appropriate - ideas to meet the demands of the project in hand. This can range from simple, one-off executions to campaign theme development. This will often involve working as part of the team but this role is not about ‘hiding'; it is a key part of the role that the candidate should be able to deliver their own inspiring creative ideas when required.

 

Person Specification

Education:

  • Preferred graduate calibre
  • Formal marketing training useful

 

Experience:

  • Significant experience in a similar role in a B2B agency environment
  • Online and offline creative experience
  • Line Management experience (may be useful in the longer term)

Knowledge:

  • Expert accurate writer
  • Appreciation of marketing and branding principles, and the ability to apply this knowledge to new projects
  • Understanding of the importance of visual complement to written ideas; ability to work with art director/designer

Skills:

  • Personal time management
  • Personal organisation
  • Highly internet-aware. Not at programming level but able to exploit the medium, and up to speed with latest developments
  • Able to work with cross functional teams
  • Management skills may be useful in the longer term
  • Confidence to back own ideas; ability to find ideas worth backing
